My Blessing Day

I was blessed by my Grandpa Norris on Sunday, August 1st. I looked so cute dressed all in white. Mom made me a tie for afterwards which was a big hit. Grandpa Norris blessed me that I would grow up to be a good man, that I would treat others with respect, be a leader among my friends, and much more. I was such a good boy (Mom fed me right before) I didn't make a peep. I had lots of family come for my big day!! My Grandpa Pool spoke about how much he loves seeing me every week when Grandma tends me and how he is so glad Grandma taught my Mom how to take such good care of me. After the blessing everyone came over for breakfast and to visit. I was pooped so I just slept through the party. It was a perfect day!

3 Months Old

Where has the time gone ?? I can't believe my baby is already 3 months old!! We have had some big events around the Norris household lately...Jeanine finished school and we started finishing the basement. Wahoo! Q is growing by the day ...he has discovered his hands and could stare at them literally for hours. He smiles all the time (except when you need him to for pictures) and has started to reach for toys. It is so fun seeing his little personality start to develop.

Back to Work

Well I survived my first full week back to work. I had a few tears the first day but I think it is easier to deal with leaving your baby with a sitter when you know it's not an option to stay home :( Quinton has the best sitters ever !! Grandma & Natasha (& Kenley) are taking such good care of him while Mom & Dad are at work. It makes it so much easier when you know he is in such good hands when you are away.

Quinton had a long stretch last night 8:30 PM to 5:00 AM ...of course Mom didn't sleep that long. Q is starting to smile when you talk to him and tries to reach for toys - he is growing so fast!! Nick & I wouldn't trade it for the world :)

Two Months Old

The picture says it all...well not completely! I have had some tummy issues which makes me a bit grumpy. I have grown 4 lbs since I was born - I now weigh 10 lbs 9 oz !! I have started sleeping a little better at night which Mom & Dad love ...my record is a 9 hour stretch!!

One month has come and gone...

I am really no good at this whole blogging bit. I have great intentions but just seem to always be a little bit behind. Quinton is now 7 weeks old and we seem to be settling into a bit of a routine - just in time for Mom to go back to work :(. The last several weeks have brought new adventures as usual:

• no more newborn stuff ...I am getting too big :(



• a few blow out diapers ...that is always pleasant



• change in formula ...now sleeping 6+ hours at night!!



• starting to like the bath a bit more



• went through a record 5 diapers and 2 outfits in 30 minutes ...of course Dad wasn't home

How time flies...

Quinton is already 4 weeks old tomorrow :( It is crazy how fast the time goes by. He is getting so big! At his 2 week check-up he weighed 6 lbs 15 oz. (this was great considering he was down to 6 lbs 3 oz the day after we came home from the hospital). He grew out of his newborn clothes about a week ago. Q is such an angel ...he has been sleeping around 4 hours at a time at night which is great for Mom & Dad. He is also staying awake for a few hours during the day. Nick & I are still adjusting to being first time parents but wouldn't trade it for anything.

Some more firsts...

• My first photo shoot ...I pee'd all over the blankets :)

• First of many trips to Costco


• Started sleeping in my crib at 3 weeks old


• Had my first projectile vomit all over Mom!


• Had my first bath...not quite sure how I feel about them yet



• Went to visit Great Grandma Murray in Logan


• Dad bought my first baseball mitt ...yes already!

And then there were three...(and Mazey of course)

It is hard to believe a week has already passed since this little guy came into the world. Nick & I were taken by surprise when he decided to come 2 weeks early ...but it all worked out just fine. There are no words to describe the overwhelming emotions I have felt becoming a mother. For the first several days I just looked at him and kept questioning if he was truly mine - did I really bring this perfect little life into the world? I think the defining moment comes when you speak to your child and they turn and look at you almost to say I know that voice...it's my Mom :)

Week One Firsts ....

• Gave Mom & Dad a golden shower with my first diaper change at home ...lol
• Visited the Dr. for a follow up bilirubin test...passed with flying colors
• Got a kiss on the head from Mazey (Mom freaked out)
• Pee'd through a record 4 pairs of jammies in one night!
• Went for my first walk with Mom
• Pooped ...this has been a challenge but we are getting it down!
